| Growth has been the mantra of the first world for centuries. This unsustainable objective is making itself manifest in the loosely controlled expansion of urban centers worldwide. As developing cultures mimic our own growth and taste for extravagant amenities, sprawl has become the norm and the associated sacrifice of nature and habitat follow. The mathematically derived grid-form human development takes, is unmistakable compared to the naturally evolved forms which follow the course of least resistance. In contrast to nature, our developed landscapes are often terrains of dominance and resistance not compliance and harmony. |
