| The American West is a cocktail of mythology, romance and physical pragmatism. Because of extremes of terrain and climate, human culture was forced into pockets where conditions would support development, surrounded by vast tracts of open space. This had the effect of preserving large areas of nature which otherwise would have been destroyed. That's all changed now of course, but it was the original attraction to the populations now residing here. There is no particular place where the West officially stops and East begins, but if you travel far enough West you find yourself in the East. This collection of Imagery includes the far western states and locations west of that. |
